Small works of art with a big impact

Approach

“Music videos are like small works of art – their job is to lift the song.” My mentor, the experienced director Marcus Sternberg, put it in a nutshell. A music video is more than moving images set to music: it is a visual experience in its own right. It should amplify the song’s message, let the artist shine and stay in the memory.

Yet working in front of the camera can be a challenge even for seasoned artists. This is exactly where my work begins.

My work

  1. 01

    On-camera performance coaching

Based on the director’s interpretation I carefully prepare the artist for the shoot. Together we work out the narrative layer of the storyline and the performance layer in detail. My aim: the artist’s values, brand and identity stay clearly visible – authentic, unique and coherent.

  2. 02

    Conceiving and realising dance choreography

For the dancers or the artist: every movement tells something. Drawing on the artist’s physicality and the director’s vision I develop choreography that fits both the music and the personality, and bring movement in line with the imagery and dramaturgy. This creates room for authentic, powerful performances.

  3. 03

    Directing in selected cases

On special projects I direct myself, combining my experience in choreography, movement and camera work with a fine sense for aesthetics, dynamics and narrative power.

In front of the camera or behind the scenes – I bring movement into images, tell stories through body and space, and let music breathe visually.
